Conventional Braces
(Orthologics)
Fixed braces remain the most dependable way to correct complex alignment — and through the Orthologics system, Dr Vally goes further than straight teeth. Orthologics is an airway-focused approach that guides the growth of the jaws and face, so treatment is growth-based, not only cosmetic. Comfortable fixed appliances, suited to children from around five years old through to adults, designed to avoid extractions and surgery in the vast majority of cases.
What to expect
We begin with a thorough growth and airway assessment — not just where the teeth sit today, but how the jaws and face are developing and how your child breathes. From there, Dr Vally plans treatment around natural growth: gentle, comfortable fixed appliances that balance the facial dimensions, create space for the permanent teeth, and bring everything into healthy alignment. You'll see the plan, the timeline and the cost before anything starts.
Is it right for you?
- Children from around age 5 showing crowding, crossbite or jaw imbalance
- Mouth breathing, snoring, grinding or restless sleep alongside crooked teeth
- Moderate to complex alignment cases where removable options aren't enough
- Teens and adults who want a dependable, fully guided correction
- Families who want to avoid extractions and surgery wherever possible
The process
Growth & airway assessment
A gentle, unhurried examination of teeth, jaws, breathing and facial growth, with digital X-rays and scans for the full picture.
A clear plan
We explain what we found in plain language, what the appliances will do, how long it will take and exactly what it will cost.
Fitted & guided
Comfortable fixed appliances are placed and adjusted at regular visits while we track growth and alignment together.
Retention
Once alignment is complete, retainers protect the result — and because growth was guided early, results are far more stable.
Aftercare
Wear your retainer as advised and keep up regular check-ups and cleanings — brackets and wires need a little extra care, and our hygiene team will show you exactly how. Because the Orthologics approach treats the cause and not just the symptom, relapse is far less likely.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from ordinary braces?
Standard braces straighten teeth. The Orthologics approach also guides jaw and facial growth and supports healthy breathing — so we treat the underlying cause of crowding, not just the result. Up to 80% of children needing orthodontic care have a narrowed upper jaw that affects breathing.
What age should my child be assessed?
From around five years old. Early assessment lets us intercept growth problems while they're easiest to correct — often avoiding extractions, surgery or lengthy treatment later.
Will teeth need to be extracted?
In the vast majority of cases, no. The whole philosophy is to create space by guiding growth rather than removing healthy teeth.
Do adults qualify?
Yes — the system suits patients from around five years old through to adulthood. Dr Vally will advise the best option for your case, which may also include Active Aligners.
Do you accept medical aids?
Yes — we accept all medical aids. We'll explain any costs and what your plan covers before treatment begins, so there are no surprises.
